چکیده

The cold molecular gas in the circumnuclear disk (CND) of radio galaxies provides critical information for understanding mass accretion onto active galactic nuclei. We present first detection and maps HCN J=1-0 HCO+ emission lines from region a nearby galaxy, NGC 4261, using Northern Extended Millimeter Array. Both are detected at radial velocity +-700 km/s relative to systemic they arise CND with an outer radius 100 pc. fields fitted Keplerian rotation. enclosed is (1.6+-0.1)x10^9 M_solar, assuming inclination angle 64 degree. continuum image 80 GHz reveals weak two-sided jet structure extending over 5 kpc along east-west direction bright core centre. spectrum between 230 shows spectral index -0.34+-0.02, which suggests optically thin synchrotron radiation. dense associated calculated be 6.03x10^7 M_solar. It supports positive correlation rate supermassive black hole, though there uncertainties parameters correlation.

Circumnuclear structure and kinematics in the active galaxy NGC 6951

A study is presented of the central structure and kinematics of the galaxy NGC 6951, by means of broad band BIJK images and high resolution high dispersion longslit spectroscopy, together with archival HST WFPC2 V and NICMOS2 J and H images. We find that there is little ongoing star formation inside the bar dominated region of the galaxy, except for the circumnuclear ring at 5 arcsec radius. Th...

Enormous disc of cool gas surrounding the nearby powerful radio galaxy NGC 612 ( PKS 0131 - 36 )

We present the detection of an enormous disc of cool neutral hydrogen (H I) gas surrounding the S0 galaxy NGC 612, which hosts one of the nearest powerful radio sources (PKS 0131-36). Using the Australia Telescope Compact Array, we detect MHI = 1.8 × 10 9M⊙ of H I emission-line gas that is distributed in a 140 kpc wide disc-like structure along the optical disc and dust-lane of NGC 612. The bul...

Fuelling Active Galactic Nuclei

We suggest that most nearby active galactic nuclei are fed by a series of small– scale, randomly–oriented accretion events. Outside a certain radius these events promote rapid star formation, while within it they fuel the supermassive black hole. We show that the events have a characteristic time evolution. This picture agrees with several observational facts. The expected luminosity function i...

NGC 4151 – A unified active galactic nucleus

We present a unified picture of active galactic nuclei which we construct from a detailed model of line emission in the active source in NGC 4151. This source provides us with an opportunity to explore the variation of structure with luminosity in an object which, in the model, derives its unusual properties as a consequence of the angle of the accretion disc to the line of sight. The key featu...

The physical conditions in the inner parsec of accretion disks believed to orbit the central black holes in active galactic nuclei can be probed by imaging the absorption (by ionized gas in the disk) of background emission from a radio counterjet. We report high angular resolution VLBI observations of the nearby (∼ 40 Mpc) radio galaxy NGC 4261 that confirm free-free absorption of radio emissio...
